What even is a First Look?!
A First Look is when yourself and your spouse to be choose to see one another before your wedding ceremony! You get to have the first time your spouse sees you in your wedding gown be a private, intimate moment just between the two of you (with me discreetly photographing just out of ear shot),
1. It takes the pressure off!
Wheeeew! Is it relieving to have a first look and each of you get to take each other in and know that every second of it is caught on camera for you to look back on and cherish forever! You know that aunt Beckys iphone wont be in the way when your photographer is snapping your new spouses reaction to your radiance and beauty on your day. (Also, if you have an aunt Becky, maybe also consider an unplugged ceremony! Can i get an amen??)
2. It’s so intimate!
You get to have a few moments to look each other in the eyes, (mostly) unwatched, and tell each other all of the things that have been racing through your mind today! You can laugh together, maybe shed a tear together, and breathe a sigh of relief that your day is finally here! You will feel excitement, joy, love, passion and sheer giddiness for your day! You also get to see up close and personal their reaction, that’s unbeatable!
3. It gets the ball rolling!
Okay, wedding party and family pictures can take forever. But they’re necessary! So if you want to save a little time, and enjoy more time with your wedding guests (maybe even get to enjoy your cocktail hour!) then try and get all of those group shots out of the way. Having a first look means you can be seen and take photos with your spouse and not wait until after the ceremony.
4. You’ll still be gleaming, not sweating.
You want to look your best! So do the majority of your couples photos before the tears, sweat and alcohol kick in!
5. You get more of your day with your spouse.
This is a no brainer, you actually get to spend your wedding day with the other person this day is for! Instead of hiding out in a suite with your friends, (which is also very fun, but hello, bachelorette party!) you can instead spend more of your wedding experience with your spouse, soaking it all in and enjoying each other.
